I do not consider photography as something merely to be "looked at." Photography is a medium for reading existence. People can decorate themselves with words. However, the body cannot lie. Gaze, posture, scars, a cane, distance, silence, time. In photography, these are etched as traces. I do not make the subject perform. I perform direction, but I do not demand acting. What is captured is not a role, but the very time that the person has lived.

私は写真を「見るもの」とは考えていない。 写真とは、存在を読むための媒体である。 人は言葉で自分を飾ることができる。しかし身体は嘘をつけない。 視線、姿勢、傷、杖、距離、沈黙、時間。 写真には、それらが痕跡として刻まれる。 私は被写体を演じさせない。 演出は行う。しかし演技は求めない。 写されるのは役柄ではなく、その人が生きてきた時間そのものだからである。

I am not taking photographs. I am reading existence.

Photography is not information.

Photography is not something to be merely looked at. It is a medium for reading the time etched into the body.

Gaze. Breathing. Tension in the shoulders. Skin. Scars. A cane. Silence.

Rather than superficial pretense, I wish to affirm that person’s true existence.

Therefore, I exclude acting.

People try to hide their scars. They try to hide aging. They try to hide disability. Society attempts to alter and beautify them.

However, I am different. I wish to affirm existence itself.

The scars. The cane. The aging.

Because they are proof that the person has lived through it all.

Photography does not explain emotion. I do not offer answers. I merely pose a question.

What did you read from this person? What did you feel from this body?

Photography is not something to be merely looked at.

It is a medium for reading existence.

私は写真を撮っているのではない。 私は存在を読んでいる。

写真は情報ではない。

写真は『見る』ものじゃない。体に刻まれた時間を『読む』ものだ。

視線。 呼吸。 肩の力。 皮膚。 傷。 杖。 沈黙。

魅せ掛けではなく、その人の存在を肯定したい。

だから私は、演技を排除する。

人は傷を隠そうとする。 老いを隠そうとする。 障害を隠そうとする。 社会はそれを修正し、美しく整えようとする。

しかし私は違う。 私は存在そのものを肯定したい。

傷も。 杖も。 老いも。

その人が生き抜いた証拠だからである。

写真は感情を説明するものではない。 私は答えを提示しない。 私は問いを置くだけである。

あなたはこの人の何を読んだのか。 あなたはこの身体の何を感じたのか。

写真とは、見るものではない。 存在を読むための媒体である。

【Section 4: Structural Framework Block】

In AIO Theory: Intervening in matter is the theory of creation. Accepting irreversibility is the theory of existence. And, Reading existence is the theory of appreciation.

I do not consume the subject. I read existence. And I make that existence intervene in the world as matter.

AIO理論では、 物質へ絶対介入することが制作の理論である。 不可逆性を受け入れることが存在論である。 そして、 存在を読むことが鑑賞論である。

私は被写体を消費しない。 私は存在を読む。 そして、その存在を物質として世界へ介入させる。
